For ‘The Retro Hamper’ we take a 35% deposit then the final balance is due 4 weeks prior to your wedding.

A flat $99 Processing Fee covers shipping, handling, and service fees, charged separately from the $999 hire cost.

The camcorders arrive in a hamper a few days to you before the wedding & you send it back the next business day after your wedding. (there will be a return label inside the packaging)

Inside the hamper are 3 vintage camcorders with spare batteries and battery chargers with some instructions.

Each Camcorder comes with a spare battery and charger so the camcorders can last as long as you want them to.

All batteries are sent fully charged

Within your hamper the camcorders memory/storage will all add up to more than 35 hours - plenty of time.

I have an overwhelming amount of vintage camcorders that I try and circulate so it’s never the same in each hamper, but I try and give everyone a mix from all decades - 90’s 2000’s and 2010’s.

Sadly we can’t use copyrighted music – no wedding videography company can do this legally, and it’s worth being cautious of businesses that suggest they have a special licence to.

What you can do, and what I recommend, is send over a few tracks you love as references. I’ll then choose a licensed song with a similar feel, tempo, and energy, and shape the edit around what was actually captured on the day.

I don’t offer a pre-set music library to choose from. Choosing music first often turns the edit into a slideshow-style montage built to a track, rather than a film crafted around the footage itself. Letting the story lead always results in a more natural, considered film.

In over 400 DIY camcorder wedding hires, sound has never been an issue. If people in the room can hear the speeches or ceremony, so will the camcorders – their built-in mics are excellent.

I use wireless microphones in my professional filming, but they’re not practical for guests to use at weddings.

They often have syncing issues, accidental turn-offs, interference in crowded 2.4 GHz environments – and if the person filming stands in the wrong spot, the audio can cut out entirely. In short, they’re more trouble than they’re worth.

They’re also very small and hard to keep an eye on (even when sober).

The average production time for a highlights film by Wedlock Films is approximately 12 weeks. These times may be more or less depending on the amount of work outstanding at the time.
